This year’s Mammoth Gran Fondo was nothing short of exhilarating! With over 100 miles of breathtaking scenery, challenging climbs, and fierce competition, it was a race that truly pushed every rider to their limits. I’m excited to share that I finished 5th overall and took 1st place in my age group—a result that I couldn’t be more proud of!
The Mammoth Gran Fondo is always a highlight of the cycling season, and 2024 was no exception. The route took us through some of the most beautiful and iconic parts of the Eastern Sierra, including sweeping views of the Sierra Nevada mountains and the dramatic landscape around Mono Lake. The climbs were as tough as ever, especially the ascent to Mammoth Lakes, but the reward of crossing the finish line was worth every bit of effort.
This year, the competition was fierce, with top riders from across the country pushing the pace from the start. It was a hard-fought battle all the way through, and every rider left it all out on the road. For me, it was one of the most intense races I’ve experienced, but also one of the most rewarding.
What made the event even better was the camaraderie. Whether it was sharing a laugh with fellow riders at the start, exchanging stories of victory and struggle during the race, or celebrating with friends and teammates afterward, the sense of community was incredible. We had an absolute blast this year!
As I look back on the event, it reminds me why I love cycling—the challenge, the thrill of competition, and the people who make the sport so special. I can’t wait to be back next year, ready to push even harder and enjoy another unforgettable adventure.
